5 of of 5 stars Academic with personal and practical response to manipulation

The timeliness of this book strikes me as we are faced with an onslaught of manipulative tactics through misinformation, from home and abroad. The book balances an academic approach with very personal and tactical actions in response to manipulation. This well organized compendium describes manipulative methods and also practical personal and collective resources to combat these. The short chapters and even point form works well in this well organized book. I believe this work would be a valuable reference tool for a practitioner, but also for someone working on their own personal growth. I like that hope is expressed in the conclusion, that “<being caught in manipulation> is not a life sentence.”

5 out of 5 stars A good and insightful book

I picked up this book purely based off of curiosity, what is the difference of dark psychology and regular psychology, many would assume that dark typically means evil. But in this book it really opens your eyes up to what it really means. It's all around us like in advertisements on billboards when you're on the road or in an ad when you're scrolling on your phone. The book also tells you it's purely to help you understand what is happening around you to better protect yourself. At the end of the book it even provides insightful methods of catching it happening.
